How To Install A Pedestal Sink

A pedestal sink can be the perfect addition to any bathroom. They are especially suited to a bathroom that is small to begin with and you don’t need the additional counter and cabinet space. While a pedestal sink will add an old time elegance to your bathroom, it is not the easiest sink to install. A pedestal sink comes in two separate pieces to install and the drain and supply pipes must be installed at the correct height.

Measuring is critical with a pedestal sink along with neatness and care. The pipe work has to be very neat and you must be very careful to not tighten any of the fasteners too far or you will crack the china. You may need to add blocking between the wall studs for stability as the weight of the sink will not be held if you merely attach it to plaster or drywall.
